|The Remnant Church of Jesus Christ
|We believe God the Father sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to be our personal Savior. We believe the plan of salvation is
perfect and was made possible only by the shed blood and death of Jesus Christ on the cross for the remission of our sins,
(I JOHN 4:14) “AND WE HAVE SEEN AND DO TESTIFY THAT THE FATHER SENT THE SON TO BE THE SAVIOR
OF THE WORLD.” (ROMANS 5:8-9) (8) “BUT GOD COMMENDETH HIS LOVE TOWARD US, IN THAT, WHILE WE
WERE YET SINNERS, CHRIST JUSTIFIED BY HIS BLOOD, WE SHALL BE SAVED FROM WRATH THROUGH HIM.”
(John 3:16-17; Rom. 6:23; Rom. 3:24-25; Eph. 1:7; Colo. 1:14; John 4:42; Acts 4:10,12; Titus 1:4; Rom. 10: 13-15; Acts 13:
22-23; Matt. 26:26-28; Isa. 12:2).
We believe salvation is a gift from God, (ROMANS 6:23) “FOR THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH; BUT THE GIFT OF
GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.” (Eph. 2:8; John 3:16).
We believe that we are saved by grace through faith and not by believing that works alone can save anyone, (EPHESIANS
2:8) “FOR BY GRACE ARE YE SAVED THROUGH FAITH, AND THAT NOT OF YOURSELVES: IT IS THE GIFT OF
We also believe that faith without works is dead, which brings us to the fact that we can not have eternal life by works alone;
and neither can we have eternal life without doing good works. The answer to this controversy is simple: If we do good works
because we believe that they can save us on their own merit, we will be lost. However, when we do good works because we
love God and are following the example of Jesus and His good works through our faith, this is acceptable to God. Once again,
God looks at and judges the heart as to why we are doing good works. It takes a daily spiritual love, commitment, work,
determination, patience, knowledge, virtue, faith, temperance, godliness, brotherly kindness, spiritual and mental diligence, and
obedience to be a faithful born-again Christian and follower of Jesus Christ. This is the work of a lifetime, (II Peter 1:2-7).
Our good works must be motivated by our sincere love for God, (JAMES 2:14,17,20,26) (14) “WHAT DOTH IT PROFIT, MY
BRETHREN, THOUGH A MAN SAY HE HATH FAITH, AND HAVE NOT WORKS, CAN FAITH SAVE HIM? (17) EVEN
SO FAITH, IF IT HATH NOT WORKS, IS DEAD, BEING ALONE. (20) BUT WILT THOU KNOW, O VAIN MAN, THAT
FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD? (26) FOR AS THE BODY WITHOUT THE SPIRIT IS DEAD, SO FAITH WITHOUT
WORKS IS DEAD ALSO.” ..... (II TIMOTHY 3:17) “THAT THE MAN OF GOD MAY BE PERFECT, THOROUGHLY
FURNISHED UNTO ALL GOOD WORKS.” (I Thess. 5:12-13; II Thess. 2:16-17; Titus 2:7,14; Titus 3:8; James 2:18; Heb. 13:
21; Matt. 5:16; II Cor. 9:8; Colo. 1:9-10; Acts 9:36; Acts 26:15-20; etc.).
We believe that salvation or eternal life is to know the Father and Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, whom He sent to
show us the way unto the Father through Himself, (JOHN 17:3) “AND THIS IS LIFE ETERNAL, THAT THEY MIGHT
KNOW THEE THE ONLY TRUE GOD, AND JESUS CHRIST, WHOM THOU HAS SENT.” .....(JOHN 14:6) “JESUS
SAITH UNTO HIM, I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE: NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER, BUT BY
ME.” (John 17:8,26).
We believe that the Holy written Word of God has the power to bring us to salvation. (JAMES 1:21) “WHEREFORE
LAY APART ALL FILTHINESS AND SUPERFLUITY OF NAUGHTINESS, AND RECEIVE WITH MEEKNESS THE
ENGRAFTED WORD, WHICH IS ABLE TO SAVE YOUR SOULS.” (Rom. 1:16; I Cor. 15:1-2).
We believe that we must have the love of the truth in us to be saved. (II THESSALONIANS 2:10) “AND WITH ALL
DECEIVABLENESS OF UNRIGHTEOUSNESS IN THEM THAT PERISH; BECAUSE THEY RECEIVED NOT THE
LOVE OF THE TRUTH, THAT THEY MIGHT BE SAVED.”
We believe that to know God is to love Him, to love Him is to obey Him, and this brings forth the gift of grace from God unto
salvation, (TITUS 2:11-12) (11) “FOR THE GRACE OF GOD THAT BRINGETH SALVATION HATH APPEARED TO
ALL MEN, (12) TEACHING US THAT, DENYING UNGODLINESS AND WORLDLY LUSTS, WE SHOULD LIVE
SOBERLY, RIGHTEOUSLY, AND GODLY, IN THIS PRESENT WORLD;” .....(JOHN 14:21,23-24) (21) “HE THAT HATH
MY COMMANDMENTS, AND KEEPETH THEM, HE IT IS THAT LOVETH ME: AND HE THAT LOVETH ME SHALL
BE LOVED OF MY FATHER, AND I WILL LOVE HIM, AND WILL MANIFEST MYSELF TO HIM (23) JESUS
ANSWERED AND SAID UNTO HIM, IF A MAN LOVE ME, HE WILL KEEP MY WORDS: AND MY FATHER WILL
LOVE HIM, AND WE WILL COME UNTO HIM, AND MAKE OUR ABODE WITH HIM. (24) HE THAT LOVETH ME
NOT KEEPETH NOT MY SAYINGS: AND THE WORD WHICH YE HEAR IS NOT MINE, BUT THE FATHER’S WHICH
SENT ME.” (I John 2: 3-5; Rom. 6:16-17; I John 2:2-4).
