|The Remnant Church of Jesus Christ
|We believe there is no other worship day commanded by God to keep holy and to assemble ourselves in worship than the seventh
day Sabbath (Saturday,) in accordance with His fourth commandment, (EXODUS 20:8-11) (8) "REMEMBER THE SABBATH
DAY, TO KEEP IT HOLY, (9) SIX DAYS SHALT THOU LABOUR, AND DO ALL THY WORK: (10) BUT THE GOD: IN IT
THOU SHALT NOT DO ANY WORK, THOU, MANSERVANT, NOR THY MAIDSERVANT, NOR THY CATTLE, NOR THY
STRANGER THAT IS WITHIN THY GATES: (11) FOR IN SIX DAYS THE LORD MADE HEAVEN AND EARTH,THE SEA,
AND ALL THAT IN THEM IS, AND RESTED THE SEVENTH DAY:WHEREFORE THE LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH
DAY, AND HALLOWED IT.”
We believe in the Ten Commandments of God, and that we must obey all of them. To break any one commandment without
sincere confession and repentance will bring about the penalty of the second or eternal death. This includes God’s Fourth
Commandment which He said for us to “Remember”. (JAMES 2:10) “FOR WHOSOEVER SHALL KEEP THE WHOLE
LAW, AND YET OFFEND IN ONE POINT, HE IS GUILTY OF ALL.” (I JOHN 3:4) “WHOSOEVER COMMITTETH SIN
TRANSGRESSETH ALSO THE LAW: FOR SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW.” (ROMANS 6:23) “FOR THE
WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH; BUT THE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.”
We believe that God takes HIS FOURTH COMMANDMENT (OR SEVENTH DAY SABBATH), SERIOUSLY. While Jesus
lived amongst the children of Israel in the Shekinah Glory, those who broke this commandment were sentenced to death. The
penalty has not changed; the only difference is that it will be carried out at the time of the final judgement. (EXODUS 35:2) “SIX
DAYS SHALL WORK BE DONE, BUT ON THE SEVENTH DAY THERE SHALL BE TO YOU AN HOLY DAY, A
SABBATH OF REST TO THE LORD: WHOSOEVER DOETH WORK THEREIN SHALL BE PUT TO DEATH.”
(Exodus 31:13-18; Numbers 15:31-36).
We believe the seventh day Sabbath is one of the oldest God-given institutions in the world; the marriage is the other, and
both were instituted at the time of creation in the Garden of Eden. God blessed this specific day and made it holy. He also
sanctified it by setting it aside from the other six days of creation. (GENESIS 2:1-3) (1) “THUS THE HEAVENS AND THE
EARTH WERE FINISHED, AND ALL THE HOST OF THEM. (2) AND ON THE SEVENTH DAY GOD ENDED HIS
WORK WHICH HE HAD MADE; AND HE RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORK WHICH HE HAD
MADE. (3) AND GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY, AND SANCTIFIED IT: BECAUSE THAT IN IT HE HAD
RESTED FROM ALL HIS WORK WHICH GOD CREATED AND MADE.”
We believe the Sabbath was made for man or the people of God and not for the Jews only. It was instituted at the time of
creation, long before the first Jew, (MARK 2:27) “AND HE SAID UNTO THEM, THE SABBATH WAS MADE FOR MAN,
AND NOT MAN FOR THE SABBATH.” (Hebrews 4:9).
We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord of the Sabbath (His seventh day Sabbath). Therefore, we believe that “the Lord’s day”
is the seventh day Sabbath, and it will never change. In order to change or alter it, God would have to change or alter His Ten
Commandment Law, (MARK 2:28) “THEREFORE THE SON OF MAN IS LORD ALSO OF THE SABBATH.” (PSALM
89:34) “MY COVENANT WILL I NOT BREAK, NOR ALTER THE THING THAT IS GONE OUT OF MY LIPS.” (Matt.
12:8; Rev. 1:10; Malachi 3:6; Heb. 13:8; Matt. 5:17-18; Luke 16:17; Isa. 40:8).
We believe that God’s seventh day Sabbath is a “sign” between Him and His faithful people to those in the world. We
believe that God’s seventh day Sabbath will be a “perpetual covenant” between Him and His faithful church forever,
(EZEKIEL 20:12,20) (12) “MOREOVER ALSO I GAVE THEM MY SABBATHS, TO BE A SIGN BETWEEN ME AND
THEM, THAT THEY MIGHT KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD THAT SANCTIFY THEM. (20) AND HALLOW MY
SABBATHS; AND THEY SHALL BE A SIGN BETWEEN ME AND YOU, THAT YE MAY KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD
YOUR GOD.” (EXODUS 31:13,16-17) (13) “SPEAK THOU ALSO UNTO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL, SAYING,
VERILY MY SABBATHS YE SHALL KEEP: FOR IT IS A SIGN BETWEEN ME AND YOU THROUGHOUT YOUR
GENERATIONS; THAT YE MAY KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD THAT DOTH SANCTIFY YOU. (16) WHEREFORE
THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL SHALL KEEP THE SABBATH, TO OBSERVE THE SABBATH THROUGHOUT THEIR
GENERATIONS, FOR A PERPETUAL COVENANT. (17) IT IS A SIGN BETWEEN ME AND THE CHILDREN OF
ISRAEL FOR EVER: FOR IN SIX DAYS THE LORD MADE HEAVEN AND EARTH, AND ON THE SEVENTH DAY HE
RESTED, AND WAS REFRESHED.”
We believe the seventh day Sabbath will be kept throughout eternity in the new earth that Jesus will create after the fulfillment
of the Thousand-Year prophecy, (ISAIAH 66:22-23) (22) “FOR AS THE NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH,
WHICH I WILL MAKE, SHALL REMAIN BEFORE ME, SAITH THE LORD, SO SHALL YOUR SEED AND YOUR NAME
REMAIN. (23) AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS, THAT FROM ONE NEW MOON TO ANOTHER, AND FROM ONE
SABBATH TO ANOTHER, SHALL ALL FLESH COME TO WORSHIP BEFORE ME, SAITH THE LORD.” (Isa. 65:17;
II Pet. 3:13; Rev. 21:1).
We believe that Jesus Christ and His apostles have set the example for us to follow in the keeping and worshipping of the
seventh day Sabbath, (LUKE 4:16) “AND HE CAME TO NAZARETH, WHERE HE HAD BEEN BROUGHT UP: AND, AS
HIS CUSTOM WAS, HE WENT INTO THE SYNAGOGUE ON THE SABBATH DAY, AND STOOD UP FOR TO READ.”
(Acts 17:1-3; Acts 18:1,4,11; Acts 13:13-16, 42-44; Acts 15:21-22; Mark 1:21; Luke 4:31; etc.).
We believe that Saturday is the seventh day Sabbath because the seven-day week cycle has never changed since creation. Adam
and Eve to Noah kept the Sabbath. Noah to Abraham kept the Sabbath. The faithful Israelite people kept the Sabbath all the way
down to Jesus Christ and even to this very day. God would never let this holy day be lost under the penalty of the eternal death.
How do we know that Saturday is the Sabbath by the Bible? Most all of Christianity believes that Jesus died on Good Friday
and resurrected on Sunday, the first day of the week. But what day is between Friday and Sunday? Saturday, the seventh day
Sabbath of God. (LUKE 23:52,54-56) (52) “THIS MAN WENT UNTO PILATE, AND BEGGED THE BODY OF JESUS.
(54) AND THAT DAY WAS THE PREPARATION, AND THE SABBATH DREW ON. (55) AND THE WOMEN ALSO,
WHICH CAME WITH HIM FROM GALILEE, FOLLOWED AFTER, AND BEHELD THE SEPULCHRE, AND HOW HIS
BODY WAS LAID. (56) AND THEY RETURNED, AND PREPARED SPICES AND OINTMENTS; AND RESTED THE
SABBATH DAY ACCORDING TO THE COMMANDMENT.” (LUKE 24:1) “NOW UPON THE FIRST DAY OF THE
WEEK, VERY EARLY IN THE MORNING, THEY CAME UNTO THE SEPULCHER, BRINGING THE SPICES WHICH
THEY HAD PREPARED, AND CERTAIN OTHERS WITH THEM.”
We believe that most of Israel failed in their keeping of the Fourth Commandment, as does most of Christianity fail today
because of their unbelief. Please read where God duly warns us in (Hebrews 4:1-11).
